Make sure the elevator for pick-up & drop-off are secured with a key for keeping the door open during the move.
Speak with apartment management if necessary.
- Disassemble all beds, mirrors on dressers, washers & dryers, table legs or bases, your wires to electronically equipment (TV's, DVD's, computers, etc.)
- Take all lamp shades off lamps, carry them in an automobile or put them in the proper box.
- Stage your boxes in one room or garage, so they are easily accessible to the movers.
- Make sure all your boxes are taped shut (heavy items in small boxes, lighter items in big boxes) it makes loading a truck go much quicker.
- Have sidewalks to door access free of all debris and obstacles before the movers arrive.
- Make sure you have all cash in hand before the end of the job, so the time does not tick on the way to the bank.
- Use your time wisely, remembering anything that goes into another hour will be charged a full hour.
- Be clear of the movers path, and please keep animals and children clear too.

We bring tools for all disassembly & reassembly, and we are well versed in the removal of electronic equipment and anything else that needs disassembly***
- Have a garage sale. Get rid of everything you don't need before you move.
- Get organized now. Don't wait until the last minute. Make a list of things you need to do and when.
- Make sure you are ready for the packers and movers. Don't forget to do the laundry, wash the dishes, pack your suitcases, disconnect computers, stereos and VCR's.
- Set aside those items that you will be taking with you and clearly mark them as Do Not Pack.
- Arrange to close your accounts at your local bank and open accounts in your new hometown.
- Obtain a change-of-address kit from your post office or go to http://moversguide.usps.com
- Drain the gas and oil from all your power equipment (lawnmower, edger, etc.)
- Schedule house cleaning and other home services for the day after loading.
- Have your utilities shut off the day after loading (gas, electric, telephone, etc.)
- Make your travel arrangements for the day after loading. In case of weather delays or other unforeseen problems, you wouldn't want to miss a flight or other travel related appointment.
- Before the moving truck leaves for your destination, give the driver your phone numbers where you can be reached. It is also a good idea to get the drivers cell phone number.
Be aware of items that CANNOT be moved with the mover. These items include: Flammable Items * Combustable Items * Aerosol Cans * Hazardous Materials * Gasoline * Plants * Paints Ammunitions and Explosives * Jewlery
